Wais Wednesday #14: Source of Wisdom
Our source of wisdom comes from the Lord and He even said in His word in James 1:5 - that if anyone of us lacks wisdom he should ask the Lord who gives generously without reproach. The Bible is our one-stop reference and full of guidance about how we should live our roles, as children, parents, husbads, wives, employees, businessman and so on. There is not any book published similar to the
Bible that is a catch-all guide. After all, all words in the Bible are breathe by God. So next time we have a question in life, let us go to the Bible, let us go to God.

September to Remember
a. We opened our rice store - Camaso Rice Dealer. We have to totally entrust God where He will lead this new venture.
b. I was scheduled for surgery at St. Luke's Medical Center, Quezon City. There is a growth in my vocal chords which causes my hoarse voice. After the surgery, I had to be speechless for 10 days to ensure proper healing from the surgery. I had to trust God that He is in full control of the surgery. I have entrusted to Him te hands of the surgeon and the other attendants for that surgery. I have entrusted Him my life the time I had to be in a deep sleep for the surgery.
c. Typhoon Ondoy flooded major areas of Metro Manila. Our place was spared and God just reminds us that He is in control, He gives and He takes away. God sometimes have to shake our faiths for us to look at Him and trust in Him.
These are the times where we just hold on to our faith in God, for Him to lead us where He wants to and show us His presence in our lives.
Indeed, it is a September to remember that God is working in our lives.

Press Down, Shaken Together, Running All Over
1. My father's surgery. For God's provision and healing. He provided the means for us to afford the surgery that is suitable for my father's age; He prepared my father to be physically, emotionally and spiritually ready for the surgery. Doctor's were even asking what was his secret for his healthy heart. He did not have to go to ICU compared with others who underwent the same surgery.
2. Kid's enrollment. He provided the means for us to enroll our kids in schools that really nurtures them as individual and as children of God.
3. Trip to Singapore.`He gave us the means and the time to bond and relax as a family and bond with mother and sisters' family.
4. House makeover. He provided financial and other resources for the makeover. We were able to contract those whom he gave talents and skills to do the repainting and repairs.
and still counting.. these are just to name a few of God's blessing.
It could be a good practice to count our blessings and name each one. This way, we will be reminded how rich and amazing our God, our provider is. He can give us more than we ask, more than we can think or imagine.
Earlier this year, we committed these items as we prayed in Touch of Glory Prayer Mountain. And indeed, God who is more than able gave us more than we ask, more than we can think or imagine. True to His promise in Luke 6:38, God made all these possible on top of the different ministries we are supporting.
"Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full--pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back."
We give, not because we wanted to receive...we give out of our response to Him who first gave us His only Son that we may live a life that is one with Him.

Undo
With the recent technology, not only we enjoy a softtouch keyboard but we also enjoy the combination of correction fluid and backspace in a single backspace key or even better, the UNDO feature. If backspace can erase a letter one step back, UNDO takes you not only a single letter but several steps back. It can be typing of a whole sentence, spacing, font color or any formatting or any wordprocessing tool you can think of.
This morning, I got mad and upset by the little boys. We had an agreement that they will complete the worksheet I prepared for them in preparation for their exams. So as not to pressure them, I just let them finish the worksheet on their own time. I went inside our bedroom, took a short nap and was awakened by the noise in the livingroom where I left the boys working on their respective worksheets. As I step out of the room, they were playing by the window with our neighbors. Much to my disappointment, I got mad and raised my voice as I burst in anger. I could have said so much mean words and hurt they boys feeling. But I cannot take those back. I cannot go back in time to be calm as I talk to them. How I wish I can backspace or much more UNDO the things that happened few minutes after waking up from that nap.
Time and always I keep telling myself to be patient and calm in dealing with the boys because whatever happens from outbursts can no longer be undone. I would like to believe I am a work in progress and still a long way to go in learning to be a good parent. My prayer is that no matter what, my boys will have wisdom as I try to talk to them and make them understand that sometimes, mom is going to be upset but no matter what, mom always loves them.

The only thing
Imagine when we were younger our diaries are so sacred that we don't let anyone see it. It's a top secret that sometimes we only share it with our bestest friend. I had a diary then. I kept it in a safe place, some place where no one else can find except me. And so I thought. Until my younger sister saw it and she was like repeating each lines from my diary. I just cannot remember how often I update my diary.
Now, things changed. All your deepest thoughts, dreams and whatsoever that takes place in your life, you just have to blog it, post it in your wall and share it to everyone else.

God's Glory Revealed
March 7, 3am – Got up early in a Saturday morning. Headed to the bathroom and took a quick bath. Made sure that am properly dressed up for the trip, wearing comfy clothes and shoes. Pack our bags and headed to pick up Steve and Lei before heading to NLEX. Traffic is moderate at 4:30 am. Looks like everyone else planned an out of town trip to welcome summer.
We had a quick and light breakfast at Shell NLEX. Most shops are still closed so we opted to buy beef pandesal and instant coffee at Shell Select Store. Then off to Capaz, Tarlac. The directions going there is simple and easy to follow, and we reached the place around 7:30 am. Our group convened to decide whether we take the long route or the short walk. Since we are two groups, we decided we’ll switch ride going back because the 4x4 jeep would part ways along the way and there is a “Skyway Fee” for the short route.
Our group decided to take the long route for our trek. It was a long walk but I enjoyed every step of it. I enjoyed the rock formations. I can see God’s very hands sculpting the mountain slopes.
I never felt tired during that long walk. I never felt alone in this journey. I felt His presence walking side by side with me showing His glory.
I ran out of water. Our tour guide told us that there is a spring water at the foot of Mt. Pinatubo which is safe for drinking. After having much thought, I decide to get a drink anyway, not minding what my eyes can see inside my drinking bottle.
Then we have to go up the slope of the mountain. This is really the tiring part as we have to climb up the mountain. But then, our exhaustion was immediately swept away as we reached the top to behold the crater and the lake. We rested for few minutes before deciding to go down the lake. Ish, Steve and Jerome took a dip, while I enjoyed taking photos. There is still a reason for us to go back as we never went to the other side of the lake.
I cannot imagine how God is at work in our lives. Looking back, Mt. Pinatubo is a dormant and inactive volcano for 500 years and without a purpose…God worked on Mt. Pinatubo and slowly transformed it into something that will display God’s magnificence. It never happened overnight, it took several years to form the lake and the walls of the crater into something it is now. He never stopped in just blowing away the volcano. Day by day, God is at work for it to become as it is now. It has put Capas, Tarlac and Zambales in the map and has become a major tourist destination in the North. It has become the source of livelihood for the residents of the once lahar sunken community.
Philippians 1:6 says “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus”
God is continually at work in our lives, day by day, perfecting it until Jesus’ return.
We could be feeling so down feeling helpless and unsuccessful in our lives. But then rejoice! God’s unseen hand is at work in our lives until all His glory is fully revealed in us.
